Church of the Hills exists to lead people to reach their full potential in Christ. Jd and Leah dreamed of planting a church where people from all different backgrounds could experience the love of God. On February 8, 2015, that dream became a reality as Church of the Hills held it’s very first service at Bellevue Middle School with 348 people in attendance.

In the short history of Church of the Hills what God has done has been nothing short of a miracle. Hundreds of people now attend one of the two worship experiences, and nearly 2,000 people have made a decision to follow Christ.

If you haven’t visited, we invite you to see for yourself how exciting church can be when the focus is simple, and people are free to go after God with passion!

Pastor Jd Ost was called to be a pastor after graduating High School in Union City, TN. He moved to Tyler, Texas, pursued ministerial training, and came back home to study communications, and serve the local church. While serving his local church, Pastor Jd met his beautiful wife, Leah. After more than a decade in full-time ministry, he and Leah felt a clear call from God to move to Nashville, and plant a life-giving church.

In 2013 with a few close friends, around a plate of amazing chocolate chip cookies, the vision for Church of the Hills was born.

Pastor Jd is a gifted teacher and communicator. He has a passion for making God’s word relatable and practical. He has a heart for reaching people and helping them know God, no matter where they are on their journey. He and Leah live in Nashville with their two sons Bekton and Baylor.

Weekend Experience

Each weekend at Church of the Hills you’ll find a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Through the use of preaching, worship, and creativity, we strive to present the timeless message of Jesus Christ in a clear and fresh way. You’ll also find a printed outline for notes in your worship guide that will help you make the most of each week’s teaching.

Each service we offer creative, exciting programs for children from birth to 5th grade. Our loving team members teach biblical values that will help your kids build a strong foundation of faith to grow on.

At Church of the Hills, there is no dress code. We believe God cares more about the condition of your heart than your outward appearance. Feel free to dress up, or come in jeans and a favorite t-shirt, whatever makes you comfortable.

If you are visiting for the first time, we will not embarrass you, have you stand up, or ask you to give money. We know that many people want to check out the church and “be anonymous” and that’s fine with us! So come in, grab a free cup of coffee, enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, and see if this is the church for you.
